Ottawa –Bill Casey, MP Cumberland Colchester, took exception today to the practice by Correctional Services Canada of training inmates to be telemarketers. Casey say’s “It is totally inappropriate for inmates to be calling peoples’ homes asking them personal questions about their lives and families.”
Casey asked the Solicitor General, the Honourable Lawrence MacAulay, to stop this process, and instead restore funding for the traditional training programs such as the one in Springhill, where vocational teachers were recently terminated for lack of funding.
