Statement from Bill Casey, MP on Speech from the Throne

            

September 24, 2007

 

Ottawa –  The Bloc have announced their five conditions required for them to support the Throne Speech. The Liberals have listed four. The NDP will not support the Throne speech.

 

            As an Independent Progressive Conservative MP from Nova Scotia, I have only one condition for me to vote in favour of the Throne Speech…reverse the seven pages of amendments to the Atlantic Accord agreements which were imposed on Nova Scotia and Newfoundland without their consent or agreement in the 2007 Budget.

 

            The Throne Speech is an opportunity to correct the mistake made when the Government of Canada changed the Atlantic Accords without the consent or authorization of the Government of Nova Scotia.
